Castle Siege & Taxes
* If there is a server restart during a siege, all siege participants will be frozen when they log-in, until all siege NPCs have resumed their positions. The cost of any siege golems lost during the restart will be refunded.
* Mercenaries can be placed anywhere on the castle grounds, until a siege begins. Unused mercenaries will remain available to the castle lord for use in future sieges.
* If a castle owner loses a castle to an attacker, the owner may place an encampment while attempting to re-take the castle.
* Once a siege time is established, it cannot be reset.
* While defending a castle, you will respawn in a room with a teleporter NPC if you die. Depending upon the status of the Life Control Crystals, it may take longer to teleport out of the room.
* If no one registers to attack a clan-owned castle, the current owner will keep the castle until the next siege occurs.
* Whether NPC or clan owned, Aden Castle takes a significant portion of tax revenue collected by all the other castles in Aden.
Clans
* To mail to all clan members, open the Community menu and click the Clan tab. Click the link Clan Mail. This will open a template for clan leader to mail to all clan members.
* When uploading your clan crest, make sure to save your 16 x 12 image in 256 color format.
* If an opponent in a clan war kills you using a pet or a summon, the normal death rules will still apply.
* If you choose to dissolve a Clan, press the "Dissolve" link only once. Pressing it again will reset the dissolution timer.
* Pressing the "Recover" option will immediately cancel a dissolution request, but it will not return the XP already lost.
* Clan names may be sixteen letters long, with no spaces, symbols, or numbers allowed. If you dissolve your clan, the name will remain attached to your character for seven days. After the dissolution is final, the name will become available to others.
* After a clan leader has waited the necessary seven days for their old clan to dissolve, they must then wait an additional ten days before creating a new clan.
* Clan leaders will lose experience equal to one death for requesting a clan dissolution.
* Whenever you perform a clan action, such as a dissolution or dismissal, please write down the exact date and time of the action, for your own future reference.
* Clan crests will not be displayed until your clan is level three.
* There is no way to transfer skill points (SP) to your clan leader, or any other player.
* Clan members must wait five days before joining a new clan once they are evicted or withdraw from their previous clan.
* Clan leaders must wait five days before inviting new clan members after any previous member has left or been removed.
Commerce & Trade
* Stores that contribute to blocking hallways, arches or passages in peace zones are subject to being relocated by GMs.
* Always type the exact price of items you want to sell/buy in the private store window. For example, '100000' rather than '100k'.
* Be wary of trusting other players during item transactions. For example, when exchanging items with other players who repeatedly cancel a trade, they may seek to replace one of the offered items with one of lesser value.
* Always verify the identity of any player with whom you would like to trade, as many names can look similar. For example, do not auto-reply to private messages. Be sure to type their name out manually.
* Never drop an item unless you are willing to risk losing it forever.
* Always check the color of private store messages. Purple is 'Sell'; yellow is 'Buy'.
Interface
* When in a party, the party leader can delegate authority to a member of that party through the Change of Party Leader button or the /changepartyleader command.
* Press Alt + Enter while running Lineage II to switch between Window mode and full-screen.
* Clicking the small triangle in the target window with a player selected will reveal clan and alliance affiliation.
* You can find nearby NPCs using the /target command.
* Double right-clicking on a party member will let you assist that party member by attacking the same mob.
* When joining a party you will be able to see what the Party Leader has set for the Drop Distribution. There is Random (goes to a random player within the party) and Finders Keepers (whoever picks up the item gets it in their inventory).
* Town safe zones do not go into effect until you are actually inside the town boundaries. For example, the tunnel descending into Dark Elf Village is not a safe zone.
* If you press the mousewheel, the camera angle will rotate 180 degrees.
* The "Random Loot" option is not influenced by level, party leadership, or any other statistical element. It is literally random.
* When receiving private messages from many players, you can toggle through their names by typing a quotation mark, then using the up or down arrow.
* Please do not use Alt + Tab in the game, as this may cause system instability.
* If your character appears to "fall through the world", this can be corrected immediately by restarting to the character selection screen and logging back in.
* When entering heavily populated regions, such as towns or siege areas, using the "Lower Detail" option (Alt+P) can improve your overall game performance.
Items
* Place soulshots and spiritshots in the shortcut window and right-click the related shortcut to automatically use soulshots and spiritshots. Right-click it again to turn off automatic use.
* Weapons with enhancements cannot be used in the creation of dual swords.
* Armor sets that increase weight affect the amount at which your weight penalty is applied.
* Scrolls of Escape may be interrupted if you are hit while attempting to teleport. If this happens you will not teleport and your scroll will be gone.
* When attempting to resurrect a player with a spell or scroll, you must be grouped with them and target the corpse's name while holding the shift key.
* If you crystalize an enchanted item you will receive additional crystals according to the level of enchantment. For example, if you crystalize an item enchanted +4 or higher, you will receive more bonus crystals than items enchanted to +3 or less.
* Combining swords of a certain grade can create dual swords of the next grade level.
* Characters can carry up to 80 items on their person; this includes equipped items, quest items and items in your regular inventory. Dwarves can carry up to 100 items.
* When making dual swords, enchantments do not carry over from the original weapons.
* To retrieve your items from freight, visit the exact same Warehouse NPC with the character to whom you sent the freight.
* If you have three swords, one of which is enchanted, the blacksmith will randomly combine any two of them when making dual swords.
* It is possible to drop up to five items when you die - even your equipped weapon - regardless of your karma status. Chaotic players have an increased chance to drop items upon death.
* When you enchant items beyond +3, you run the risk of destroying the item forever. When this occurs, you will receive a lesser amount of crystals than if you had crystallized it.
Petitions (Pm'ing a GM)
* If you observe behavior you believe to be in violation of the rules, please write the player's name down exactly and include it in your petition.
* Unless you were specifically advised to email support, you can petition with the email reference number (as long as it is an in-game emergency/violation type issue).
* If you feel you have gained karma because of an exploit, you may experience non-refundable XP or item losses if you continue to play. To receive assistance, visit support or log in with a non-chaotic character on the same account and submit a petition.
* If you have experienced a loss that can be demonstrated graphically (becoming stuck in a wall, etc.) please remember to take a screenshot to better support your case.
* GMs can only discuss issues pertaining to your account and character. Please do not petition on behalf of anyone else, unless reporting a game violation. Also, GMs cannot discuss the disciplinary status of other accounts.
* GMs will never ask you for any items or account passwords under any circumstances.
* Please do not petition with a misleading message in an effort to receive a quicker response, as this can be considered an abuse of the petition system and causes additional delays for other petitioners.
* When petitioning, please give as detailed a description of your issue as possible, to help the GM staff resolve your petition efficiently. For example, please avoid: 'Hello', 'Help', 'Problem', 'Petition'.
* If you have any doubt someone is a GM, you can verify by using the /gmlist command.
Pets
* Pets cannot pick up arrows, soulshots, spiritshots, blessed spiritshots, or compressed spiritshots and soulshots.
* You must be a castle owner to summon a wyvern.
* If pet food is in the pet's inventory and its hunger gauge falls below 55%, it will automatically consume food to increase its hunger gauge.
* Your pet cannot return to its collar if its hunger below drops below 40%.
* Although certain ressurrection spells will partially restore another player's XP, they will not restore a dead pet's XP.
* You may only summon one pet at a time.
* Certain resurrection spells will partially restore a dead pet's experience.
* If your pet equips a weapon or piece of armor once, it will automatically re-equip those items every time you summon the pet.
* You will gain karma if your pet PKs a player.
* To feed your pet, drag the pet food into the pet's inventory and then double-click on it.
* Hold the shift key when targeting a dead pet for resurrection.
PvP & Karma
* Hold the Ctrl key to attack a party member in the arena.
* A chaotic character with a PK count of five or more will be transported to Floran Village either upon clicking Return to the Nearest Village or use of a Scroll of Escape.
* Killing a purple party member will not cause you to go red.
* Using the skill Fake Death to train agro mobs onto other players is not an exploit.
* You will gain karma if you kill your summoned creature.
* Many special attack skills do not work on clan members, party members or white players.
* If you are killed by your opponent outside the PvP arena after fleeing from a duel, normal death rules will apply.
Quests
* If you exceed 80% of your weight capacity or if your inventory slots are 80% or more full (80 items for Dwarves and 64 items for other races), you will not be able to have a conversation with an NPC regarding a quest.
* When you complete your profession change quests, you must deliver the final quest item(s) to the proper NPC before the change will take effect. Do not delete these items, as the quests are non-repeatable.
* If, in the middle of a quest, an NPC instructs you to train more, this means you need to level your character before you can continue with your quest.
* When you complete your profession change quests, you must deliver the final quest item(s) to the proper NPC before the change will take effect. Do not delete these items, as the quests are non-repeatable.
* If you are in the middle of a promotion quest, but change your mind about the class you want to become, you may cancel this quest and start a different one. Once you complete your transfer quest(s), you cannot change your path.
* Some quest monsters must be killed solo to get the item they drop. This means that other players may not attack or even debuff the quest mob.
* Before you decide an item or NPC has not spawned correctly, search the area thoroughly. Many quest monsters will wander away from their spawn location.
* If you ever want to manually remove a quest item, open the regular inventory, click on the "Quest" tab, then drag the item into the trash.
* If you are instructed to use only a certain weapon to kill a quest monster, this means you cannot use any alternate weapons or spells on that monster.
* Deviating from in-game quest instructions by following unofficial guides may prevent you from continuing your quest.
* Players can have up to fifteen quests at once.
Skills
* Certain Area-of-Effect spells and skills may be used in town for display purposes only. Targets suffer no damage and the user will not flag.
* Using a regular bow attack will consume some MP. The amount will vary depending on the bow. However, using a special bow skill, such as Power Shot, will consume MP without using an arrow.
* Using certain stackable skills may cost additional MP. For example, using two 60 MP blade dances at the same time will cost slightly more than 120 MP.
* Neither Spoil nor Sweep will help you get items from players you kill in PvP.
* Although Fake Death can sometimes deter monsters, players can still hit you.
* Creatures you have summoned with crystals will disappear when you die or log out.
* You must start from a standing position to use the Relax skill.
Your Account
* Characters take seven days to delete. This waiting period cannot be altered.
* Modifying the game client is not allowed.
* Be careful when logging into Lineage II from any computer besides your own, as it is difficult to ensure they are secure.
* Character names cannot be changed, unless they are deemed blatantly offensive according to our content guidelines.
* Never share your account information, even with friends or family.
